Texas police say mother stabbed by college athlete trying to escape with 3-year-old

A college athlete tried to flee with a woman’s 3-year-old son, even stabbing the woman with a screwdriver as they argued with the boy, Texas police said.

The mother told San Antonio police that her son was playing outside their apartment complex on the city’s northeast side when he saw a young woman not approaching him, according to a statement released by the department. Thursday, February 16 around 2 p.m.
