Waukee police released their names Two people were found dead on Thursday morning In an incident that has been called a murder-suicide.

Nelsibert Estafani Castillo Mata, 26, was the victim, according to a news release. She was in a domestic relationship with 36-year-old Felix Backham, who was found dead of self-inflicted injuries in the 200 block of Southeast Boulder Court in Waukee, the release said.

A judge dismissed that case on Feb. 17, with a dismissal order citing a plea agreement, but no further information was available in online court records. Castillo Mata petitioned in January to end the no-contact order in the Dallas County case.

The Polk County Attorney’s Office and the Dallas County Attorney’s Office did not immediately respond to messages Saturday afternoon.
