Family members demand justice at memorial for 16-year-old girl killed in hit-and-run crash
It was an emotional scene outside Gable High School in Fayette County on Saturday.

“Surgery. See you when you get home.” He walked out the door and never came back,” said Bailey’s father, Bobby Veitch.
“He was just starting out. Only 16. He didn’t get his license yet. It’s just so unfair,” said his mother, Danielle Mullen.
Police say Bailey went to Dairy Queen with his girlfriend when he was struck while walking along East Crawford Avenue in Connellsville. He later died at a nearby hospital.
Loved ones said Bailey loved animals and never met a stranger.
Police say 42-year-old Mark Lucic is responsible. The Ontario, Canada man was in town on a work ski trip when he hit Bailey. Police say he was drunk and fled the scene. There are multiple charges against him including vehicular homicide.

“Just for one night. Just for someone to be selfish. He was taken forever,” his mother said.
“I hope you know what you’ve done. I hope you’re rotten. I hope you never see the sun again,” his father said.
Lucic is scheduled to have a hearing on Wednesday, February 15.
