2 students of Sandalwood High School arrested for assault, robbery, principal says

Two Sandalwood High School students were arrested Thursday on charges of robbery and assault on another student, according to a communication from the school’s principal.

A message from Principal Sarin Hatcher to Sandalwood parents and families said the attack happened in a bathroom at the school.

“School police were able to immediately locate and arrest the two students involved in this incident,” Hatcher said.

Hatcher said the school “has been in direct contact with the victim’s family who were able to receive medical care and assistance this morning.”

Hatcher said she was “very disappointed” about the incident and called it “absolutely unacceptable”.

Here’s the full message from Hatcher:

“Good morning Saint Family, this is Principal Hatcher.

“I apologize for interrupting your morning, but unfortunately, I have very disappointing news to share with you regarding an isolated incident that occurred on our campus this morning.

“We placed the school on a code yellow as the school police investigated a report that one of our students had been assaulted and robbed by another student in a school restroom.

“Through their investigation, school police were able to immediately identify and arrest the two students involved in this incident.

“We are in direct contact with the victim’s family who were able to receive medical care and assistance this morning.

“Again, I am very disappointed to share this information with you. What happened today was absolutely unacceptable, and it is disturbing when young people make decisions that lead to this outcome.

“I would like to thank our school police and security team for their work in identifying the suspects and taking them into custody this morning.

“Thank you for listening to this message and taking the time to share. Have a great day. Bye.”
